How do you go about finding out if we're the photographers for you?
Weddings are momentous occasions, and since you end up spending a large portion of your special day with a photographer, we think actually liking them is a good idea. Feeling comfortable with the person behind the camera is one of the essential ingredients to creating the beautiful images in a way that is uniquely you. Talk to us! If you think you like the look of our images and want to know more, say hi here. We try to respond to emails within 24 hours. We can arrange to catch up, ideally this will happen somewhere where coffee and or cake is available. But, if location does not permit that, we can catch up via skype or phone. We will go over what we do and what we need from you to make sure our part runs smoothly. The pre wedding consult is also a great time to tell us about anything speacial you would like to incorporate into the shoot. The first meeting is reasonably casual so no matter what stage you're at with choosing a photographer we're always up for talking weddings. Who keeps the copyright of images?
Both of us! It's like we've got shared custody of the photos. You can print it out and put it on your wall, put it on facebook or give it to grandma (or the entire rugby team) for Christmas. What you can't do is sell the images or use them for any kind of money making eg: You can't put the images on a flyer or use it on your website without talking to us first. We might use it for our own site, like facebook or something but we would talk with you first too, like we're sharing a beautiful photographic child. We've got a whole article about it here though.
How do I book and what is the deposit?
To secure your date we require a $500 deposit, however if you've expressed interest but not paid we will contact you before booking another wedding on your day. The $500 is a non refundable deposit, in the case your date changes we are happy to carry over your deposit to the new date providing we're free. If you cancel your plans we will endeavor to fill your spot so we can return your deposit.
Are you available for weddings outside of the Bay of Plenty?
Absolutely. In fact most of our weddings are outside of the Bay, our travel costs are reasonable so please ask for a quote.
I want something different from your 'standard' packages, are you flexible?
So you're getting married on a Monday with only your close friends and family present at the local croquet clib. Or, you're getting married on a tropical island and the local photographers aren't really your cup of tea. We are open to discussing your plans & budget. We have been known to absorb part of a flight in our package for the obvious bonus of a weekend on a sunny beach or adapt our package to suit a smaller wedding which does not fall on a premium date (Friday & Saturday November-April). We love a bit of variety so get in touch and we can discuss how we can tailor our packages to suit you.
Do you employ a second shooter?
In most of our packages it states you get '2 shooters' you are guaranteed one of us and a quality second shooter, if you're the only booking for that date you will get both of us.
What if you are sick or there is an emergency on the day of the wedding?
This has never happened but we would endeavor to find a suitable replacement and or refund you 100% of your deposit. One time someone died and fell into the lake beside where our a ceremony was taking place, but thankfully they weren't part of the wedding party and we were able to photoshop out the police boat. We're pretty sure this wont happen to you.
How many photos will I receive?
We have stipulated a rough guideline for the amount of images to expect in our price list. Creative discretion belongs with us, the photographers, in terms of what images we do or do not supply -every image portrays not only you as a couple but us as a company. A big part of our job is capturing your day in a way that is uniquely you so we welcome you to share your ideas so we can keep them in mind on the day to ensure the end result reflects both our shooting style and your taste.
When & how will I receive my photos?
Normally we supply you with a 'sneak peek' a few days after your wedding which we post to our facebook. You will receive all the edited files on a usb drive via track & trace courier no later than 8 weeks after your wedding, unless you wedding falls between November through March, in which case it can be up to ten weeks.
